John Kehoe

In 2005, I was appointed Managing Director for Celtic Safety Training Ireland, a training and consultancy organization. I have successfully stabilized the business and fostered growth by developing a strong portfolio of reputable clients.

With 30 years of experience in Health & Safety training and consultancy, I have been involved in the development, implementation, and maintenance of integrated management systems, including audits, assessments, and capability measurements.

My focus is on maintaining and enhancing business standards and company accreditations.

My expertise includes Safety and Quality Training as well as practical Management Consultancy.

I possess experience and knowledge in the following management systems:

ISO 14001, ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 17024.

I joined Meteor Mobile Communications Ltd as the Health & Safety and Environmental Manager, overseeing Technical and Operational Group Customer Services. I have actively promoted and facilitated improvement initiatives across the industry. During my tenure, I implemented ISO 14001:2018 and ISO 14001.

I have worked in Telecommunications Engineering within the Utilities sector Quality Assurance Manager and Health & Safety Manager. I achieved a senior management promotion and provided effective support to Morrison Tesl Ltd during a period of significant growth over five years.

My Safety Management Training and Consultancy portfolio includes  including Eir, Meteor Mobile Communications, the Refrigeration Industry, the Office of Public Works, Local Authorities, and Public Courses.

Helena Bracken

Financial Controller, Office Manager, Human Resources Officer, Data Protection Officer

I became part of Celtic Safety Training in 2016, taking on the roles of Financial Controller, Office Manager, and Human Resource Officer, and subsequently trained to serve as the Data Protection Officer. Before my tenure at Celtic Safety Training, I accumulated over 20 years of experience in the Financial and Training sectors. I held the position of Training Network Manager and Administrator for the IPCA Accel / Skillnet Project (Skillnet Ireland is the national talent development agency that provides upskilling programs and business support to companies of all sizes through 70 Skillnet Business Networks and National Initiatives).

I oversaw the overall project budgets, ensuring that Income and Expenditure targets were met. I managed cash flow and maintained financial records. I was responsible for ensuring all training objectives were achieved, scheduled training sessions, and organized and executed network activities.

In my capacity at Celtic Safety Training, I am tasked with managing CST Finances. I collaborate with Management on a monthly basis to provide financial updates regarding Profit & Loss and Cashflow forecasts.

As the HR Officer, I oversee the entire employee lifecycle from recruitment to termination. I ensure regulatory compliance, promote a positive workplace culture as well as addressing employee grievances, and safeguarding confidential records. Managing our Clients' Training Budgets and co-ordinating with Clients, Team Members, and Trainers is also part of my brief, to ensure an agreed training schedule is implemented in accordance with the Clients' expectations and Budget. I work closely with my colleagues to assess the Training Needs Analysis for public requirements and facilitate the delivery of this training.

Michelle Coen

Training Co-Ordinator, Office Administrator, Solas Verifier

I became a training coordinator, office administrator, and Solas Verifier at Celtic Safety Training in 2016, with my role as a Solas Verifier starting in 2017. I possess extensive experience in administration, having worked in the insurance industry for over 10 years prior to joining the company. My responsibilities include developing and delivering training programs for our clients, as well as managing the administration and verification of training related to CSCS courses post delivery. Recently, I completed an IOSH accredited OTHM Level 3 Technical Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.

Paschal Sweeney

Auditor, Consultant, Lead Auditor, Project Manager, Trainer

I came to Celtic Safety Ltd with experience spanning more than 35 years in the telecommunications industry. I have engaged in many fields such as Technical, Data Management, Quality Management, and Health & Safety Management. My specialization is in Quality, Health & Safety Management Systems, Auditing and Training. I compile and updating Safety Statements, Work Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Audit Checksheets, and Accident Prevention Guidelines.

I began my career at Department of Posts and Telegraphs in 1978 as a Trainee Installer. From that point until 1979, I worked on both overhead and underground networks. In 1982, I became an Established Installer acquiring jointing skills as Technician Grade2, and subsequently as Technician Grade1 in Advanced jointing skills. I joined the Telecom Eircom Cable Records team in 1992 as a Customer Team Leader (CTL). In 1997, I transferred to Dublin as a CTL on a project team for the development of an advanced cabel records system. In this capacity, I was involved in Tender Evaluations and collaborated with Group IT and other consultants involved in the project.

In 1999, I took up the position of Eircoms Quality Manager for the Eircom Eastern Region. By 2001, I had progressed to a Layer E Manager role in Process Improvement, Quality/ISO/CPI. This was succeeded by overseeing the GEO system and ARD database for Access Networks based in Castlebar, Co. Mayo. In 2005, I the Internal Build Team for Portlaoise District as Engineering Executive. This role involved addressing product quality and H&S related issues. My role continued in 2013 focusing on H&S aspects and management in Eir’s Fixed Access Operations Work nationally.

Additionally, I worked for a number of seasons with the OPW in Clonmacnoise Monastic Site as a tour guide where I gained significant experience working as part of a team engaging with and facilitating visitors from around the globe.

Colin Kehoe

Trainer

My name is Colin Kehoe, and I have been employed with Celtic Safety Training since August 2020. In my position, I am responsible for delivering the Solas, Signing Lighting Guarding (S.L.G.) C.S.C.S. course. Additionally, I conduct the Health and Safety at Roadworks (HS@RW’s) C.S.C.S. course. I also teach Abrasive Wheels subsequent to completing the Abrasive Wheels Instructor course. I provide Manual Handling training for both Eir and County Councils as a QQI Manual Handling Instructor. Furthermore, I conduct S.S.W.P. (Safe System of Work Plan) training for various County Councils throughout Ireland.

I began my training career after completing the Train The Trainer (T.T.T.) program and worked as a Telecom Engineer in the UK for two years. Following my return to Ireland, I joined KN Circet, where I dedicated four years to PSTN line ADSL and VDSL projects throughout Ireland.

When the KN Training Academy was founded in 2016, I provided training for Telecom Engineers in Fiber optics and subsequently cross-trained engineers to handle both fiber and copper networks.

I conduct training sessions on working at heights, underground operations, and MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platform) training, which includes managing dropwire and jumpers within Cabinets, Exchanges, and roadside units (RSU), as well as addressing any additional requests from management.

Office Administrator

I joined the Celtic Safety Training team in June 2020. My position is responsible for managing the office’s day to day operations regarding data inputting management. As Office Administrator, I collaborate with the Training Co-ordinator and Office Manager to guarantee the administration of the training database and all other office administrative tasks are carried out promptly and efficiently.
